Jacob Baldwin
Client Services Director
Jacob joined Unio in 2012 as a Client Services Manager for the Dublin SME sector of Corporate Pensions. He is a Qualified Financial Advisor and holds a B.A Finance (Honours) degree from NUI Maynooth.
Miriam Bourke
Client Services Manager
Miriam oversees our corporate pension administration team in our Cork office. She works with several large companies assisting in devising strategies for the ongoing survival of their pension scheme. She has over 12 years' experience in the financial services industry in Bank of Ireland, Life and Mercer.
Aileen Crowley
Client Services Manager
As Client Service Manager, Aileen’s role involves co-ordinating the delivery of all Unio services to corporate clients and their members. Her responsibilities have also broadened to incorporate new business. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from University College Cork and is a Qualified Financial Advisor.
Colm Erett
Pensions Actuary
Colm commenced his actuarial career in the retirement practice of Mercer in 1997. Colm joined Unio in April 2006 following Invesco’s acquisition of L&P Financial Trustees pension business. Colm’s almost 20 year career has focused primarily on the provision of Defined Benefit actuarial consulting services.
Ger Fitzgerald
Investment Consultant
Gerald Fitzgerald joined Unio’s Investment Consulting team in 2015 and has 10 years industry experience assisting clients with their investment & actuarial requirements. Gerald is a Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA) and a graduate of both University College Cork and University College Dublin.
Joe Fitzpatrick
Head of Operations
Joe joined Unio in May 2007 bringing more than 18 years of experience in the Pensions Industry. He provides advice on employee benefit outsourcing to many of the worlds' leading multinational companies operating in Ireland. He’s a Qualified Financial Advisor and Fellow of the Life Insurance Association of Ireland.
Sean Keigher
Client Services Manager
Seán joined Unio in February 2013 and is based in our Cork office. He delivers a first-class integrated service to employers, Trustee Boards and pension scheme members of defined benefit and defined contribution schemes. He has over 15 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry. Seán is a graduate of University College Cork and is a Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA).
DECLAN KEENA
Head of Actuarial
Declan has over 14 years’ experience working in the employee benefits area. He has worked in New York and Amsterdam, assisting multinational companies with international pension and benefits strategies. Declan has considerable experience acting as both a scheme actuary as well as adopting a broader benefit strategy consultancy role.
Brian McGarry
Head of Group Insured
Brian joined Unio in 1996. Prior to that, he worked as a Pension Consultant with Irish Pensions Trust in their Cork, Dublin and Galway offices. Brian became a director in 1999 and has overall responsibility for the SME area of Corporate Pensions in the Dublin and Cork offices.
Claire Mullen
Head of Fund Accounts
Claire is a Chartered Accountant with extensive audit and compliance experience, having worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers as audit manager before joining Unio in 2009. Claire is responsible for managing the production of Trustee Annual Reports for all Invesco full service clients. Claire graduated from NUIG in 2001 with a Bachelor of Commerce and French degree.
Aidan Mulvihill
Consulting Actuary
Aidan has worked in the pensions industry for over 10 years and qualified as an actuary in 2014. During this time, he has worked in various roles within Unio’s actuarial department. He has extensive experience of advising large high-profile indigenous and multinational clients, with both defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes in Ireland.
Garrett O'Malley
Client Services Manager
Garrett has over 15 years' experience in the pension, investment and employee benefits industry. As a Client Services Manager in our Corporate Pensions area, he works closely with employers and trustee boards, helping them find solutions to the challenges facing defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes.
Muredach Reilly
Client Services Manager
Muredach has over 12 years' experience in corporate pensions. He provides consulting services to several corporate clients, and oversees scheme reviews and installations for new clients. Previously Muredach worked for Irish Life, IPT, Mercer and Becketts/Hewitt.
Brian Sexton
Client Services Director
Brian plays a pivotal role in the operation and management of our Corporate Pension area. Brian is a member of the Irish Insurance Federation Pensions Standing Committee. He has comprehensive knowledge of the legislative, financial and commercial background of occupational pension schemes in Ireland.
Bronagh Traynor
Investment Consultant
Bronagh joined Unio in September 2012 after graduating from Queen’s University Belfast. Bronagh combines her actuarial liability modelling expertise, performance analysis and reporting skills as part of the Investment Consulting team to help guide clients in developing and monitoring robust investment strategies in line with their requirements.
Gerry Winters
Director
Gerry joined Unio in June 2001 and has over 20 years' experience in the Pension and Investment industry. Gerry is head of consulting, a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute and of the Irish Institute of Pension Managers and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Siobhán Whyte
Client Services Manager
Joining the Unio Cork office in 2010, Siobhán was appointed as Client Service Manager for the Cork SME sector of Corporate Pensions. A fully qualified QFA, Siobhan holds a BA in Economics from University College Cork. She previously worked in New Ireland Assurance and Leary Life and Pensions Ltd, Cork.
Ciaran Martin
Employee Benefits Director
Ciaran has designed, managed and consulted to many pension schemes in Ireland over the last 25 years. As a past President of the Irish Institute of Pension Managers, Ciaran is acknowledged as a leading expert in the pensions industry in Ireland. Ciaran is also an experienced trustee and provides independent trustee services to both DB and DC schemes. Prior to joining Acumen & Trust in 2000 as a director and Unio in 2021, Ciaran held senior management positions in Scottish Provident and Irish Pensions Trust.
Fionan O’Sullivan
Commercial Director- Employee Benefit Solutions
Fionan has worked in the Corporate Pensions industry since 1995 with vast experience in Managing and Co-ordinating Benefit Arrangements for medium to large corporate clients, having worked previously with IFG as Director of Corporate Pensions. His role at Acumen & Trust and consequently at Unio is primarily focused on attracting and securing new corporate accounts ensuring high quality advice and service is provided.
Karol Guerin
Employee Benefits Consultant
Karol has vast experience in the Life & Pensions industry in Ireland and joined our Employee Benefits team in January 2016. He is responsible for provision of an Employee Benefits Consultancy Service to a broad range of corporate clients, specializing in group pension, group risk and health insurance schemes. Prior to joining Acumen & Trust and consequently Unio, he held senior roles with IFG Corporate Pensions, PSL Consulting and Le Chéile Consulting. He is a Qualified Financial Advisor, a Retirement Planning Advisor and a Specialist Investment Advisor. In 2017 Karol completed the Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning and subsequently completed a master’s in financial services.
Tara Glynn
Employee Benefits Consultant
Tara is responsible portfolio of Pension Schemes with attaching Healthcare, Life Assurance and Permanent Health Insurance benefits. Tara has over 15 years’ experience in the industry having spent over 10 years in BDO and previous to that Price Waterhouse Coopers, Zurich and Irish Life. She is a Qualified Financial Advisor since 2002.
Jennifer Power
Total Reward Manager
An experienced consultant with a background in HR. Jennifer advises a wide range of Corporate Clients on all aspects of their employee benefits package; with particular focus on group pension, risk and health insurance benefits. Before joining the company in 2006, Jennifer worked as a Retirement Consultant for Mercer.
Gerard Brosnan
Employee Benefits Consultant
An experienced consultant specialising in the implementation, communication and management of Employee Benefits solutions. Gerard has over ten years industry experience having previously worked for Aviva in Ireland and Alexander Forbes in the UK. In addition to being a QFA, Gerard holds an MBA.
Barry Lawler
Employee Benefits Consultant
Barry has 20 years experience working with employers on the design, implementation and communication of staff pension schemes. Prior to joining Acumen & Trust and consequently Invesco, Barry was a Pension Adviser with FBD Financial Solutions where he managed a number of corporate clients such as director pensions, multi-member risk and pension schemes. Barry is a Qualified Financial Advisor and a holder of the LIA pensions diploma and attained the Retirement Planning Adviser Diploma from the LIA in 2014.
Deirdre Cantwell
Employee Benefits Consultant
Deirdre originally joined Irish Pensions Trust over 30 years ago. This company eventually became known as Mercer. She left Mercer as a Principal of the company. During her many years there, she worked with the actuaries, in administration, in account management and in consulting, spending her last 10 years setting up and running the company's pension scheme wind up department. Deirdre brings a wealth of experience with her, in all areas of pension scheme management, to her role as a Consultant in the Employee Benefits department in Acumen and Trust and subsequently as a Client Services Manager in Unio.
Ciaran Dowling
Client Services Manager
Ciarán has over twenty years’ experience in the pensions industry and is responsible for providing high quality advice and service to a portfolio of corporate clients. Before joining Unio Ciarán worked for New Ireland Assurance, General Investment Trust and Zurich Trustee Services. He is an Associate of the Irish Institute of Pension Managers, and a Qualified Pension Trustee.
